Kyle Andrew Steed (b. 1982) is an American self-taught artist based in Texas. Through written and visual language, Steed works to develop his own sense of identity. His background in linguistics and coding has left an imprint on his life to decipher meaning in this all too often cryptic world. Steed’s time living overseas in Japan taught him what it is like to be other, and that otherness has become a source of strength he can draw on. The word abstract fails here when describing his work. Each painting is a new feeling discovered in patterns and iconography.
